This week I chose to collage together three segments of my walk. Each portion contains the theme of water, and sounds of water. It was completely by chance that it rained here enough this week, and this precipitation led to the creation of this symphony of sounds. I hope you enjoy it!
Side note- I loved listening to the work of Pauline Oliveros- wow! it lined up with so much I was thinking about in my previous blog post. What an incredible artist.
Hi Ann, I enjoyed your water theme in all its different forms. As I am listening to this it is stifling hot and the sun is easily burning the skin. I had just come in to cool down because it was so hot, this was the perfect antidote. I feel completely cool and refreshed. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOncemore...A symphony could play your composition beautifully. I can imagine each instrument for the varied notes.
ReplyDeleteI am really interested to know about the intriguing transitions at 0:18 and 1:03 -- sounds as if you might have been in a stairwell or tunnel, with the sounds reverberating? I appreciate the way you've used it as a motif to separate the different sections of sound. It works especially well in the first instance as the nearby sounds of the stream of water then surprisingly opens up into a world of bird song, (and later, more water). Interesting also to hear the overlays of distance car sounds, the man made with the natural.
ReplyDeleteSo well-focused, allowing me to receive rich detail. I was struck by the variety of water sound this piece captured, and how soothing I found it to be. The sound had a dreamy and unhurried quality that really came through when sounds other than water wove their way into the piece.
ReplyDeleteOh and I meant to ask about the image that starts off the post. I am curious about it, and anything else you were thinking about during its making you might be willing to share. Thanks!
